Today I am happy to announce my new album, Centrifics, out September 16th via @fire_records . I dove into writing this album with urgency and a potent hope that trusting myself to be clear and direct would be the bridge I needed. This album is about self permission, it’s about choosing joy over pain and it’s about saying yes to myself instead of what I fear I’m doomed or destined to become. I wanted to sing out loud and to mean it! I threw a stone as far as I could into the ocean and figured out a way to swim to it. It was clumsy and uncomfortable but it was also thrilling and it cracked me open in ways I had been too scared in the past to confront. My imagination and vision for Centrifics wasn’t a place to disappear into but a way out, like songs have always been for me, a place to find myself over and over again. Thank you to @chrifcohen who produced and mixed the album. I learned so much from him and came out the other end a better musician because of it. Thank you to @thebenvarianapproach who wrote most of the instrumental arrangements and put so much of himself into the music. These songs are my homemade life raft. They’re made out of things that surrounded me on that far-off island I was on. It feels very sweet to lay on them now in this clear lake, to hear them creak beneath me, to look up at the sky where it all started from and let them rock me to shore.
