One of a sea turtles favorite meal is jellyfish. Their thick skin, papillae (lining in their throats) and ability to close their eyes prevents them from getting stung. Unfortunately plastic bags look very much like jellyfish when floating along the currents. Sea turtles mistake trash for their next meal and end up getting stuck or even drown themselves.
