True. Grey coverage should NEVER be added onto a highlighting service 🙅🏻‍♀️ “Why Kristen? I do it all the time” Here’s why you should NEVER do it: 1️⃣ Base Touchups normally process for 30-45min 2️⃣ Lived-In color services can take 45+ minutes JUST TO APPLY 3️⃣ By the time you are finished with your highlight application, your base color is done processing and 📣 is sitting on the scalp doing damage! Even if you apply your base color after you apply your highlights, this gets really messy and can make it a perfect environment for color getting on areas of the hair that you do not want it a.k.a. spotting. INSTEAD OF DOING IT THIS WAY...DO THIS ⤵️ ✨ Have your clients come in 2 weeks before their highlight appointment for their base touchup [charge full price] ✨ Or do it by itself as a separate service before your highlighting service [charge full price] if you think that your clients are not going to be down with coming in earlier or staying longer then it is your job to educate them on the reason why you are no longer going to be offering your base touchup services with your highlights ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ IT’S NOT HEALTHY for their scalp to have color sit past the processing time IT COMPROMISES THE HAIR integrity and can be more difficult to lift through The only time it’s 👍🏼 to do apply a base with highlights is if your highlights will be done processing at the same time the base is ✅ Do you 👍🏼 Agree or 👎🏼 Disagree? #kristenlumiere 🚨 P.S. if you want to learn exactly how I approach this type of client, I sure exactly what I do in one of my classes inside the Lumiere Lab after dark! 🚨 DOORS CLOSE 10/3!!
