Some creative process talk today
Simmering is an essential process of my creative process. When I come back from a trip, I usually leave my images ‘’simmer’’ in the hard drive for a couple of weeks. This allows me to dissociate with the experience and amplify the impact & my inspiration when I start editing. My favorite way to create a piece is to initiate the process slowly with intent. It usually starts by assembling the pieces of the composite, followed by basic color grading to match everything together. Then the fun begins. Little by little, I edit the image according to a specific vision I have for it. I can see the result. The process usually looks like this: 3 hours of editing, simmering for 1 week, 4 hours of editing, summering for 2 weeks, and it goes on...
It can take up to weeks, months, years.
For this particular image, I decided to share it even if it didn’t feel finished. I confess, I felt the pressure of sharing something on here to keep my business alive.
Then a week ago, I randomly started to work on it again and found a way to edit it in a way that it felt « complete ». More mood, more light, less saturation. Swipe right to see the first image I posted a month ago.
