F e s - unlike the Medina in Marrakech with its terracotta coloured streets and alleyways the Medina in Fes has taken on the warm yellows of its surrounding natural environment creating the most beautiful atmosphere to get lost in. The other point of difference is whereas Marrakech is totally flat, Fes is built on a series of small undulating hills giving it some unique and interesting vantage points. If you ever find yourself in Fes I highly recommend getting up early one morning and wondering the quiet narrow streets before the city bursts to life with its many artisans and vendors.
