Eight Cheetahs are currently on a plane from Namibia to India to be the first cheetahs to be released back into the wild in India. India’s Asiatic cheetah population was declared extinct in 1952, due to hunting, habitat loss and food scarcity.
I was lucky enough to get to meet and photograph the team responsible for this historic release while I was working at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) @ccfcheetah back in June.
