Today (30 Aug) marks the one year anniversary of my late mother's passing. Joining the pageant was my tribute for her. A tribute that was entirely meant for her, especially when the grand coronation night was just a few days before her passing's anniversary. Grieving her loss has made me stronger and it hit me that life is short. My mom has always been my pillar of strength. I still remember when I joined my first pageant, she was my biggest supporter. Her sacrifice is what pushes me to chase my dreams once again, because in the end, we only regret the chances that we never take. Mom, this one's for you. I wish you were there to witness the crowning but I know you were watching down over me from a better place, and feeling proud of your daughter. You are the reason behind my advocacy and I pledge to share my voice the best I could. As I embark on this challenging journey of my reigning year, carrying a big responsibility in representing the country, I know you will always be there for me in spirit.
