The 1️⃣ Instagram metric I care about...
Because everyone and their grandma knows that follower count isn’t the whole picture anymore. We’re all on board with the idea that having a specific, CURATED audience is much more important than having stacks of people who aren’t even engaging with you.
But what about LIKES vs SAVES?
Here’s my take:
Every time someone SAVES something you’ve created, that’s a bright green flag ✅ that they TRUST you.
You’ve inspired them or taught them something enough to refer back to your work later.
Likes, on the other hand, hold less information. It’s harder to tell if they’re truly engaged with your post, or if they just get on with you as a person. Which is fine, but it’s not enough of an action step for us to build a strategy around.
I’m not saying likes are irrelevant. Everyone loves a lil dopamine hit. But if you’re trying to figure out what’s resonating with your audience, and what you should probably create MORE of - looking at your top SAVED posts is the way to go.
