Amazing two days on the Salisbury School Hilltop. I’m pictured here behind Main Building, a beautiful example of Greek revival architecture, that I also lived in in my fifth form year. I’m so grateful to be a member of the school’s Board of Trustees, and to be back in person with a group of men and women I deeply admire and whose professional accomplishments are giant, but also whose love for Sarum knows no bounds. I’m so excited for our new head of school William Webb and his executive team. Their brilliance and enthusiasm is taking us to a new level. What is it about Salisbury that makes it so special? It’s a unique alchemy of all boys education, the most dedicated and thoughtful faculty and staff in the biz, world class athletics, and a multi-denominational modern spiritual core as if Bene Brown and Voltaire had a baby. Is it any wonder that I still count on the counsel of my high school professors at 39, and that Sarum is a spiritual and intellectual Mecca for me? Like it has for thousands of boys over the last 120 years, Salisbury School had a profound effect on the person I became. Moms and Dads know raising a boy into a man is much more than what happens in the classroom or in the fields. It’s what happens before, after and in between. I thank my mom for sending me here, and for continuing to support my journey.
