Day in the Life of a Stylist - Part 2️⃣ Shoot Day 📸😎 You’ve done the process of moodboarding and getting inspiration for your client. You’ve traveled to stores or shopped online to acquire clothes. You’ve also prepped the clothes by steaming them to make sure they are camera ready with no wrinkles. Now it’s time! You’ve prepared for this moment, but your job is just beginning. It’s one thing to gather clothes and hand them to someone and say get dressed. That’s not a stylist. I could hand you a pair of pants, but maybe I tell you to cuff them or to wear them high waisted to highlight proportion. This is what a stylist does, creatively direct the looks, which is why the in person interaction/collaboration is critical. In addition to creative direction, one of your biggest jobs as a stylist is to PROTECT THE CLOTHES. That means making sure the model wears clear deodorant so they don’t get streaks on the clothes. If your model is menstruating, make sure you have extra pads/tampons handy. If the model is wearing make up, make sure they don’t get it on the clothes.
