From 35K in debt ➡️ 100K+ saved/ invested 💸🔥 In 2018 I graduated university with 35K worth of debt. I felt so much shame and guilt around this debt and my money in general. At the same time, I was struggling with my undiagnosed ADHD, and specifically finding it hard to control my impulse spending. It felt like I was already a failure, so what did a couple more thousand dollars mean at this point? If I’m honest, it was a really isolating and scary time of my life bc I felt like nobody else was having the same struggle. In 2019, the problem continued, and I ignored my student loans like the plague. I deleted any emails I got about them, and threw out any letters in an effort to avoid the shame. Eventually I reached a breaking point and decided that I was going to take control of my money for good. The rest of 2019 and early 2020 were spent educating myself and becoming financially literate. I started my life coaching business in January 2020, and slowly began incorporating more and more financial education and enrolled to be a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). And guess what? I realized that this whole time I wasn’t alone in my struggles. I also realized that a lot of it was not my fault, because I was never given the education to succeed. Now, in 2022 I have paid off over 25k of debt. I’ve saved up a full emergency fund 💰 I have made the conscious decision to pay off my student debts slowly, and invest aggressively instead. Which allowed me to save/ invest over 100K!! 🤯 I am finally in a place where I feel confident and excited about my finances (most of the time- I still have my struggles!) and I can share all that I have learned with YOU. I want to break down some of the barriers to financial literacy by making it more simple, accessible and fun, so that you can create sustainable wealth for yourself too 🔥 So I’m writing a book about it!!! #adhdandmoney #adhdfinance #moneycoach #personalfinancetips #savingmoneytips #keepfinancepersonal #queerdco #financialeducator #budgetingtips #moneymanagement #moneymanagementtips #firsttimeauthor #writingabook
