Happy #nationalstreetvendorday 🌮💕Today and everyday consider buying from a street vendor!🌹 (Today is inspired by @meztliprojects) Back story: Even during trial times, we put this mural event together, with a small village of incredible people. To honor our South Central corn lady Amaris, who was brutally attacked while working. Also for our Long Beach vendor Bililfio, who was almost killed while selling ice cream.... We wanted to celebrate them and every vendor, for showing us what resilience looks like. I try to do it by leading by example, in everything I do, regardless of what I have experienced at times. I hope to see more days that Latinos/ Indigenous communities help each other no matter what country, flag , or label we represent. At times, when I get tired...seeing the hardships and reality that people go through, the division, and especially within my own community. I look back at days and moments like this. Where I see what serving my community does. ❤️ I even recall feeling like I let people down, because not many people showed up. As I re-watched this video I remembered the feeling that there was nothing but love, joy, and compassion there.That to me ,makes it all worth it! To all that were there and supported. Mil gracias.
