It was 2016. I was barely home. 😂 I had walked away from my Fashion Editor role a few months earlier with no safety net, just a knowing that I was meant for more. I wanted a career trajectory that held all of my interests and passions. I remember doing a Daniel Fast and at the top of 2016, I landed a role as Beauty Editor at an agency and was assigned to a project for Unilever and my training was in London🇬🇧 (this opportunity, a few years later, landed me another role at Unilever). I was invited to the Tribeca Film Festival with Nexxus. Covered NYFW backstage. I did lots and lots of travel in 2016: Paris, London, Amsterdam, Mexico, Bermuda just to name a few. Looking back I don’t know how I managed to do all of this in one year but I had a BALL. No regrets. 😂 My hair was so long I kept switching between straight and curly, embracing the beauty of natural hair and still figuring out which version felt most like me. Fluffy twist-outs were my jam. I loved it at the time. I eventually went back to my bob after this and then grew my hair out again. What a journey. This trend is cute!
