i’ve been spending the past few days in one of my favorite places and reflecting on how my time here has been spent—year over year this place never fails to create amazing memories. before i began pursuing photography, i had rented a campervan and flew here from denver and went on one of my first road trips. it was my first time ever seeing the pacific ocean. i had never seen greens so green, a beach with rock stacks taller than me, or walked through a rain forest before. it inspired me in so many ways. i came back again while traveling with @sightsofsara when i lived in my subaru. we had... an adventure of a lifetime (the understatement of the year) and i met so many other photographers turned friends. i came back again later last year for a girls weekend with @showupanyway and @mthrofmountains and running along ruby beach in the rain and spending a day chasing waterfalls was a memory i didn’t know i needed to make. and this year... getting lost on forest roads with @focusonwill and taking his three huskies and margaret out on the beach. a perfect day i didn’t know i needed to have. camping here this year with @chelseamealo, @braybraywoowoo, @chadtorkelsen, and @thatsthegoodsteph... the olympic coast has a way of getting the best people together. i’m here alone now. it’s quiet. i go to my favorite coffee shop each morning (@fogtowncoffee your wifi is excellent thank you!) and remember the first time i went there having editing parties with @driftingphoto, @michaeldbliss, @j_kreiss, and @sightsofsara. we were laughing about inside jokes we made the day before, planning adventures with strangers. the thing about living in a van is that the world becomes your home and you can relive your best memories over and over again. across the country there’s pockets of familiarity that i never expected to have. i feel at home in every state. i spent the day parked along a river yesterday. i went for a dip with my dog margaret watching me from the rocks. the water was a clear blue and cold, the sky was golden and smokey. as alone as i am in the van i’m surrounded by memories everywhere i go. and i’m so grateful to experience it all. 📸 @showupanyway
