Interviewing my dad for Out of the Shadows: Children of 86 was one of the most heartwrenching moments. I realized many of us have failed to see our parents as full humans. We have failed to realize that once upon a time they were once children with dreams of their own. I asked my dad a question I had never dared: When you were young did you have dreams? And his answer broke me. I hope with this podcast we all see that our parents are more than the sacrifices they made for their families. That for many of them: we are a reflection of what they once wished for. I love you dad. I'm sorry for all the pain you have hidden and carried alone.
