You’re qualified. You’re prepared. You know your stuff.
But somehow, you’re still being overlooked.
Here’s what nobody tells you:
People decide if you’re credible in the first 100 milliseconds - before you even speak.
And it’s not about your resume. It’s about your presence.
Here’s what kills your credibility (that you don’t even realize you’re doing):
→ 1. your body language signals uncertainty
crossed arms, fidgeting hands, avoiding eye contact. your body is apologizing for taking up space before you even open your mouth.
→ 2. your voice trails off at the end of sentences
you start strong, then your volume drops. when your voice fades, people tune out. your tone should land firmly, not ask for permission.
→ 3. you use disclaimers before making your point
“this might be a silly idea but...” or “i’m not sure if this makes sense...” — you’re undermining yourself before you even start.
The shift:
✓ ground your feet before speaking (physical stability = vocal confidence)
✓ keep your hands visible and intentional (no hiding, no fidgeting)
✓ speak in declarative statements (no uptalk, no hedging)
Being taken seriously isn’t about being louder or more aggressive.
It’s about eliminating the unconscious signals that contradict your expertise.
Your body speaks before you do.
Make sure it’s confirming your credibility, not contradicting it.

Save this before your next high-stakes moment.
