The Blackfoot, Dene and Stoney people, have been here long before Alberta and Canada were established. Their languages, culture, traditions and civil laws precede colonization. Their history with this land predates 152 years. We recognize the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Tsuu T'ina and Stoney Nations. As well as the many nations who call Mohkintsis their home. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge all Nations, indigenous and non, who live, work and play and help us steward this land, honour and celebrate this territory.
