Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes we have visited in the Canadian Rockies. 🤯 This glacial fed lake with its turquoise colored water and surrounded by mountains looks breathtaking. Fun fact.. did you know at one point this lake was on the $20 bill of Canada?! 🛶 Renting a Canoe in Moraine Lake tops the list of things to do here at Moraine Lake. It feels like you have the lake to yourselves. It's so peaceful to canoe around this pristine lake looking at the surrounding mountains. The canoes can be rented from the dock near the Moraine Lake Lodge between 9am to 5pm for a period of 1 hour and now racks in at around 140 CAD (~$100 USD). The canoe can hold about 2-3 people. I know this is a bit of a steep price for an hour... but totally think it’s worth it! Other things to do in Moraine Lake: 🪨 Rockpile Trail is an easy and one of the most popular trails for getting that iconic photo of the Moraine Lake 🥾 Moraine Lake Lakeshore trail is an easy 5.14 kms trail around the moraine lake which starts near the canoe dock 🚗 For the summer season, Moraine Lake Road is closed to private vehicles and you will have to board the Park Canada or a private shuttle. For booking a seat in the Park Canada shuttle, advance reservations are required. The shuttle operates from the Lake Louise Park and Ride parking lot.
