The Fox: NGV Contemporary Design Competition Exhibition opened last week, commemorating one of Australia's most significant cultural, civic, and architectural undertakings. Our entry – Open Weave – was selected as one of four finalists in the design competition. Collectively, we envisioned a design that cultivates deeper connections with place by stitching together Melbourne’s social, cultural and environmental fabric. A design which embodies how contemporary art can question, reframe, stimulate and provoke. McGregor Coxall was proud to have collaborated on Open Weave’s urban design and landscape architecture approach, led by @baraccowrightarchitects and underpinned by @grimshawarch’s Melbourne Studio. The team was supported by the multidisciplinary practices of @winwood.mckenzie @mcgregorcoxall @foolscapstudio @relativeprojects @20.20_studio Flux Consultants @aecom @eocengineers @2x4inc and Paul Memmott.
