New work for @louisvuitton Directed by @alexandresilberstein One that required a lot of preparation of something very short. An update on the Flowers series by Irving Penn was the brief. The update was the macro robotic movement along the flower and digital effects of the flower evolving and changing. In total we did three flowers but only one was finished. To sketch out the movement and light I did extensive sketching with @dancarlberg in 3D. Here we tested every possible move along a flower along with every possible light change and it turns out sometimes Alexandre’s tests of just getting a real flower and testing with his iPhone are more fruitful. After this was the camera tests along with @adriendavid and @___chlo_ where we ended up with an Infinity Photo TS-160 as the lens for the job. This lens however performing best at around f32-45 required us to use every single light available just to get level on the background. The shoot was done with 1st AC @etiennedang, lights by: @sidneybaucheron + team, Ultra operator: @_ynnb at @cinemotionrobotics with grip Jean Charles Etien. The challenge for this job was to create or imagine the movement that would come out of the digital effects added at a later stage - since the objects we were shooting were completely dead and static. We tried many directions but in the end the less movement to give space for the effects was probably the right call. Extensive hours and work went into this by Alexandre and @ash_spector and everyone else at @everest_studio to finish this. Thanks so very much for doing this and crossing the finish line.
