40 weeks today! 🎉 We are still patiently waiting for baby girls arrival! I’m at peace knowing she’ll come when SHE’s ready. Chris and I will have 2 midwives, a doula + both of our moms with us when Baby A decides to arrive. We feel prepared and so surrounded by love. W/. that being said...I’ve gotten an abundance of unsolicited/ aggressive advice over this past week or so... that, normally I would just ignore. But, the amount of messages that I’m still getting after I posted about it on my story is crazy. So here we go. 1. Please do not tell me that YOU think it’s time for me to get induced medically. 2. Joking about me just “getting a c-section already” is not funny. Although, some women chose to & others have to because of circumstances... black women have a really high mortality rate when it comes to c-sections performed in hospitals so that is something I actively would prefer to avoid. 3. Here’s a list of things that have already been suggested to me to get baby out. Walking, curb walking, sex (those messages get really awkward with strangers 😳), raspberry leaf tea, dates, okra water, nipple stimulation, squats, ball exercises, castor oil. I’ve been trying them all. So 🤞🏾 but please no more messages with graphic details or sex stories 😩🙏🏾 (I love y’all but I can’t) 4. Again, if I don’t post for a day. Don’t assume im in labor or I am now actively hiding my newborn from you. (Lol 😂 this one is funny because it really be strangers getting so upset ... like I should send a photo directly to them as soon as her head crowns) 5. Choosing to share that I want to have a natural birth does not give you permission to share with me your failed attempt. That is not encouraging at all. I would not ever shame a mom for choosing an epidural, c-section, induction or whatever they like... So, don’t say things like “just wait until you feel those contractions” or “uh huh that’s what I thought to”. For the people who have been positive + offered loving suggestions. Thank you for not projecting your fears, judgments or negative experiences on me. It means a lot. 🤍 I really love y’all 🤍😘 p.s. yes I’ll share everything on YouTube. I know y’all have been asking
