It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of NVWA’s founders, Jurg Oggenfuss. Jurg was a passionate and strong hearted leader in his family, community and profession. His ability to pair community and education with wine was unlimited and his contributions to Napa Valley Wine Academy will never be forgotten. NVWA was born in 2011 and officially founded in 2012, by Christian Oggenfuss, Catherine Bugue, and Jurg Oggenfuss. Their ultimate goal was to create a wine education experience that connected professional learning in an environment where the student comes first. Jurg’s experience in wine and education and his contributions to his passion has allowed for NVWA to flourish in the wine education world like no other.
