Legends, fairy tales and stories tell of wondrous occurrences, are freely invented and are full of fantastic elements. They create analogies to real complex facts and translate them into a simple language or serve to explain incomprehensible events in our lives. Their statements always have socially realistic or utopian traits and are a reflection of social conditions. What are the great leading narratives of our time? What do we use as inspiration? What are the pillars, wishes and dreams of our society? How do we shake the main capitalist narrative of constant, uncompromising growth? Can fairy tales and modern fairytales offer us an alternative? How is storytelling done today? Are there still subjects and actors and who actually tells stories? As the primary exhibition location, the focus is on the bold rows of columns away from the walls: the columns, as supporting architecture, as a carrier for narratives, for the social house. The exhibition is an experiment. An attempt to deal with the large number of columns. Emphasise them or counter the rather sober space with poetry? The exhibition concentrates on artists from different generations and subcultures who develop and have developed independent narratives, ranging from the poetic to the surreal, but in doing so maintaining the contemporary zeitgeist. @juergen_baumann @bellahuntddc
