Exploring the remains, decay and disturbing strangeness of familiar figures and signs such as Sonic the Hedgehog or the Three Little Pigs at the age of the 5g, she romanticises our nostalgia of simpler times when internet was in 2 dimensions and gameboys came with a pair of disposable batteries. Blurring the lines between fantasy gaming and fairytales while infusing a sense of WIP archeology, Amal’s work offers an opportunity to reflect on our own personal mythologies and question the poetry we’re still willing to confer to the characters and stories that once lived within us.
