Being young first time parents when we had Aeryn, we started to disconnect. Our focus went into making sure we were being the best parents and trying to figure out how to take care of a baby. Aeryn became priority number one for us and we stopped communicating and understanding one another, we stopped spending time together, and eventually just decided to separate and co-parent. We individually learned it’s not about the child. The child will always be taken care of but our relationship needs just as much attention.
