This creative was for the TV show Dracula staring the ever so beautiful, Jonathan Rhys Meyers (who I may or may not have had a tawdry, filthy, fantastic affair that involved a broken lamp, a knocked over room service cart, a lost shoe, and a room full of cigarette smoke at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel), the idea was to build a dress in white silk, dripping in red blood. Since it was shooting in Budapest, Hungary I wanted to pre-make the dress in Los Angeles to make sure that it worked. The idea being that the dress stood on its own and the model could step into the back of it because I wanted the blood to be made from wax. I liked the idea of the wax because it has a thickness and girth and drips beautifully, it ties in with the theme of the show being about the invention of electricity. I wanted you to look at the photo and want to lick the dress. Great concept, really well thought out and in here lies the problem. Getting the dress made, carefully packaged into a crate, guaranteed not to break without thinking about shipping it on an airplane. Because we filmed in Budapest, Hungary in the mountains, in the middle of winter, in an old castle. Without thinking about the conditions of the weather also the temperature in the belly of the plane, we arrived, opened the crate and the dress had shattered into a kajillion pieces. It looked like tiny shreds of sadness. On the upswing, we’ll always have the Ritz-Carlton. #dracula #reddress #ritzcarlton #budapest #setlife #choreography #volunteer #BehindTheScenes #Celebrities #Creating #Creative #CreativeBoards #CreativeDirector #Editorial #Inspiration #Magazine #PhotoCollection #Photo #Photographer #Photography
