📍🇬🇧 Helene Darroze @helenedarrozeattheconnaught Here comes one of my top fav restaurants in 2021! I have tried their 3-course lunch menu and 7-course dinner menu. Their lunch menu is more affordable and has better lighting. The dinner’s lighting was quite dim, but definitely a perfect ambience for a date! Most of the pics in this post are from their lunch summer menu. I opted for their sea trout, lamb and chocolate for desserts. The sea trout and lamb were amazing. I’m usually not a lamb person, but I really enjoyed this lamb. The only thing that I probably didn’t enjoy that much was their dessert. The chocolate was very rich and heavy, and I would prefer to have something light for dessert to end my meal. We also went for their cheese platter and it was one of my favourite cheese platters. They showed us the cheese trolley, then they cut and serve the cheese in front of us. We also went for their coffee. If you’re a coffee-lover, you will love this! I can sit there all day chilling and enjoying my coffee. The lunch experience was phenomenal, so we decided to go back to try out their full course menu. We had the dinner 7-course menu two months ago and it was amazing. The foie gras was unforgettable. The lobster was great as well. It was fresh and well cooked. The only thing I didn’t enjoy as much was their dessert. However, it might also be because I was already very full and couldn’t enjoy them fully. Their signature baba is a good choice if you’re a fan of bourbon. The alcohol taste was extremely strong and I didn’t enjoy it. However, my partner enjoyed it, so it’s really up to your personal preference. They also have a wide range of wine selections. The white wine that we had was fantastic. Their service was great. The restaurant was quiet and is a good spot for intimate conversation. We sat there for ages and had such a good conversation. I will definitely return when they change their menu, but probably just for their 3 or 5-course as 7-course was too much for me. I couldn’t enjoy the food as much as I was very full, but the full course menu was definitely worth trying.
