ReRead Jonathan Livingston Seagull for the 1000th time this weekend, with the addition of the Part 4 , which was never published until a decade ago . I first read this when I was about 10, and realise now I absorbed a lot more than just the beautiful images I was likely more interested in. Time and time again recently I’ve been reminded about the hazards of leaning into ideologies, limiting beliefs, no matter how bright and shiny they feel, how resonant they are in the moment , relying too heavily on anything that takes us away from the purity and simplicity of truth, love and the present moment . How beautiful a book that captures the essence of stillness and meditation, through the Lens of movement and flight. I’m ever more thankful my parents somehow saw fit to nurture my little soul by adding this to my bookshelf ; and letting me dream beyond .
