It’s easy to argue that something is effective and not harmful when it’s grounded in personal opinion and religious dogma, without evidence to back up the claim. However, over 50 Years of research, including the study of brain scans of young adults who had been spanked but not at the level qualifying for “abuse”, has concluded that all forms of hitting, including spanking cause structural damage to the brain, amongst other increased risk factors. Women once smoked while pregnant, people once smoked in hospitals because there’s wasn’t any physical evidence to support it’s potential harm. We now have that. And minds have changed because of undeniable facts. We now have that kind of evidence for physical punishment.
