đŁsocial media is fauxđŁ I took all of these photos within the same 5 minutes and the only thing that changed between them was posing, sucking in, and demonstrating how easy it is to manipulate your body to look a certain way. I was inspired to share this as Iâm on the way to the beach, and remembered growing up seeing the seemingly âperfectâ girls posing on the beach taking photos then afterwards (finally) exhaling, in awe with how beautiful their photos turned out. Since when did contortion come before comfort? Is fake âperfectionâ really that important? Iâm sooo tired of seeing the same filtered, posed bodies highlighted day in and day out because you know what? They donât look like that either. The last time I posted something similar, I received comments saying âI prefer the image on the left..â and you know what? Idgaf! Weâre conditioned to be attracted to certain things that weâve seen the majority of our lives, thatâs exactly why we need the mainstream media to accept bodies that may appear other than what weâre shown 24/7. Just a little PSA that your body changes everyday, every hour and keep appreciating it at every angle đ (and babes.. wear the damn bikini, u look sexy and everyone else thinks so too)
