I have a dream that one day me and my big brother are gonna be relaxing together, cellphones off, chilling on somebody's beach. I have a dream that we will hike somebody's lush trail , or ride on somebody's boat enjoying the views and sunshine. I dream about us both getting rest that is so deep and restorative and unapologetic. That is nourishing and healing. Eating some good vegetarian food. Eating some good fish. Some fresh juices. Abundance. Ive been dreaming of Sibling Vacation for a minute now. We are a certain breed of workers. I think we got it from our grandfather or our Dad? Perhaps somewhere else. Got this entrepreneurial spirit. This work ethic that seems partially admirable, partially mal adaptive coping but fully 100% from a place of love and care and being of service to our community and people. From a place of leaving a legacy. For our family, for our people. Creating something beyond us. Whether it's a Black Arts District, revitalizing our home town, senior housing community, or a healing farm and place that not only feeds our ppl, but supports BIPOC businesses, and creates a space for healing and restoration. ... We out here working. And it's a lot y'all. I see how tired he is. I see how there is the steady turning of gears in his head, full of To do lists and projects to management. I see it in him because I feel it in myself. I am a reflection of my brother in a lot of ways. We are the same and different. Connected. I'm grateful I got to spend time with @walkthetalkllc even for 2 days as we took care of some of what our father left behind. One day I hope to post from the long awaited Sibling Vacation, but for now here's a brief playful photoshoot after supporting @rockymountchillspot and with full bellies off of red snapper abundance.
