Mind blown! 🤯 Peyto Lake is absolutely stunning and it’s only a short 0.4-mile hike from the parking lot! This turquoise gem is shaped like a bear’s claw or known as “the wolf” by local photographers, and offers one of the most iconic views in Banff National Park. 🐻 ➡️ Location: Banff National Park ➡️ Trail Distance: 0.8 miles out and back ➡️ Trail Conditions: Hardened, flat path Here are a few things to know before visiting: 🩵 Peyto Lake is a glacial lake known for its vibrant turquoise color, caused by rock flour suspended in the water. ☀️The best time to visit is during the summer months when the lake is at its most vibrant. However, this is also the most crowded so just be weary of the heavy crowds. 🥾 While the hike to the viewpoint is short, I didn’t realize it was going to be a little steep in a few areas, so wear appropriate footwear. 📸 Be sure to capture the perfect photo from the lookout point below the platform, but remember to respect other visitors and wildlife. Don’t miss this easy-to-access view and share this with someone you’d love to visit with! 👀 Is Peyto Lake on your bucket list?! 🏔️ #peytolake #banffnationalpark #explorealberta #canadianrockymountains #visitcanada #solotravelgirl #outdooradventures #hikingtrip #banffalberta #viewpoint Peyto Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta travel, Canadian Rockies, solo adventure, outdoor adventure, nature photography, Canada travel tips, road trip Canada, hiking trails
