Back in January me and @jaoife_ decided to start @fourteenzine, an online zine focusing on art and writing about adolescence and coming of age. Our teen years were such a special time for us creatively and we miss the zines that helped us find our voices as writers and artists. As cultural nostalgia speeds up, we felt like it was the perfect time to pay homage to 2010s digital culture while also engaging with teens of today. @fourteenzine publishes creative writing, art and journal entries from teenagers of the past and present. While we focus on nostalgia and coming of age, we work from the viewpoint that we never stop growing up or coming of age. To celebrate our launch on 22 July (in 9 days!) we have created a one-off handmade physical zine that is available to win via the giveaway on our page. While we aren’t yet in a position to pay contributors, we do accept old work and work that has been published before but lost to the internet sands of time so if you have a short story/poem/photo series/collage in need of a home hit us up at [email protected].
