RIP Roger E. Mosley, T.C. on almost every episode of "Magnum, P.I." (1980-1988). Sadly, the 83-year-old actor died Sunday, August 7, three days after a car accident. Along with his "Magnum" glory, Mosley — who made his TV debut over 50 years ago — was the star of "Leadbelly" (1976), played Sonny Liston in "The Greatest" (1977), and appeared in such Blaxploitation movies as "The Mack" (1973) and "Darktown Strutters" (1975). He worked with John Wayne on "McQ" (1974), with Cicely Tyson and James Earl Jones on "The River Niger" (1976), and with Burt Reynolds on "Semi-Tough" (1977). More recently, he acted on a two-episode arc of the new incarnation of "Magnum P.I.," but played a different character. He is survived by his wife Toni, to whom he was wed for nearly 60 years, a son, a daughter, a grandson and many nieces and nephews. Shavar Ross, a "Magnum" co-star, wrote: "R.I.P. to actor Mr Roger E. Mosley, a wonderful actor. I grew up seeing Mr Mosley play tennis at Poinsettia Park in West Hollywood, CA. He was like family. I was honored to play his son Bryant on TV’s Magnum P.I. My prayers and condolences to Mr Mosley’s family, friends and fans." #magnumpi #rogeremosley #tomselleck #movies #tv #obituaries #gr8erdays
