dear nicky, you’re a dog and you can’t read, you were foster number 38 for me, how magical could it be, that you found your folk(s) the day before Christmas Eve, you’re about to be showered with treats and be the best thing underneath their Christmas tree, but knowing you, the tree will make you nervous and you’ll approach it anxiously. I’m gonna miss our morning cuddles and you randomly barking at the door because you think someone is there, i’m gonna miss your lil pudding face and the way that you stare, when it comes to pitbulls, i wish more people would just care, the way that humans treat you is simply not fair. Remember the first time we had to file your nails down? I had to put a headband of peanut butter on my head to distract you because damn you were making otherworldly sounds, it’s gonna be so weird to go to the basement and do laundry and not hear you next to me pitter pattering around. you happily greet anyone, you’re just a city girl who wants to have fun, my work with the Animal Care Center is so dear to me, and im thankful for all the open minded beings who adopt our fur babies, fostering is such a beautiful journey but seeing my puppies leave always make me sad, above all of this, thank you for letting me be your dad.
