And it’s the pride that you’re feeling inside For who you are, you’ve come so far ❤️ •🌈• Happy National Coming Out Day Besteas 🌈 Today we celebrate the triumph of coming out and acknowledge the tribulations we’ve had to endure to get there ❤️ Here’s the tea 🫖 •🌈• As many of you know, I did not have that “traditional” coming out moment and was instead outed at my 16th birthday party. This resulted in my entire world being flipped upside down, my sexuality forced back into the closet around my family, and my mother refusing to even talk to me. And while we have come so so far since then, I like to use this day to remind and reassure 16 year old Jeremy that his life blossomed into something even grander and more beautiful than he ever could’ve hoped for ❤️ •🌈• He would be so proud to see all thats he’s accomplished today. The conversations he can have with his mom, the boundaries of gender he continues to push, and the beacon of light he has become for his community 💛 But he also knows, his situation wasn’t nearly as bad as the circumstances many have to endure. So to those who have trauma associated with their coming out or are still afraid to do so, take your time 💛 Take your time in your healing, in your confidence, and in building up yourself into the masterpiece you always dreamed to be 💛 I learned that there is no greater power than learning to be unapologetically yourself, and I vowed to never be anything less that day.
