I was tasked with dressing @rogerfederer for the @metgalaofficial in 2017 and the theme was “Rei Kawabuko/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-between”, so I needed to come up with something with a bit of a fashion flourish for Roger and his big night. @tedstaffordstyle and I went to @gucci and fell in love with an embroidery of a cobra, which was featured on a women’s jacket and much smaller in scale. It hit me that this was the idea—I wanted Roger to look classic from the front and bold from the back. I worked with the incredible @alessandro_michele at Gucci and the rest is history. @gq documented the event of Roger getting ready, who won GQ’s “Best Dressed Man on the Planet” award that year!
