Getting educated AIARE 1 education complete! ❄️🏔️📍🚐⛷️🌏📚 • • • I often get asked “are you going to school” “what are you doing if you’re not going to college” well the answer is this. Education looks different for everyone. The time commitment, effort, and skill put into backcountry education is no less then going to “school.” There’s so much more to education than a classroom in my opinion. Lots can be learned there but that wasn’t for me. Hours of computer work and in field analysis still goes into this education. This last week I completed the first small step in a huge array of outdoor avalanche education and outdoor safety. 3 days in a remote Colorado hut, skiing with some new friends, and learning about avalanches along the way.
