GoGo Morrow - In The Way it is very hard to put this into words, because Sebastian Sdaigui, the director of this video, passed away earlier this year. Funny, larger than life, present, supportive, not taking anything too seriously, no bullshit, no caps, “CINEMA”, Philippino takeover of the navy kitchens, the Ariana Grande tales,... homie I know I cursed at the idea of driving to Lancaster for this one and that we’d spend our lives in traffic, and yet our carpools were such precious moments, and I’m glad we did get stuck in traffic, and glad we scouted dirt patches at dusk, for that I was there for the story about the masons, and all the other silly funny stuff, and also thank you for showing me the bikers bar. I didn’t get to buy you a beer that time, but I sure owe you one, and I hope you know that we miss you very much.. I’m proud of the work we did and glad you encouraged me to take more risks, and I don’t want one of the last bits of your work to fade, so I’m putting it here. But also I guess it’s very hard for me to process that one day you are shooting music videos and running around and worrying about the hollywood stuff such as what’s what and who’s who and who’s their agent, and the production, and the trucks, and somebody on set being an idiot, and live in this metafiction capitalist lifecycle of job to job hopscotch, like a Pavlov dog, and one day somebody who’s been so alive and instantly a kindred spirit, whose mere existence on planet hollywood was a calming thought, just vanish, so early, with so many things ahead of him, with a family, with a new life that has just started... and this is deeply and profoundly sad, and the fictional facade doesn’t hold up, and all I can think about is that I wish I took you out for that beer or a coffee or whatever, and all I can think of is that we all have so little time, and we all are so fragile, so gentle, perishable, and barely here and only for a short instance 🖤 @ssdaigui
