✨Weird Wednesday 🙃 This weeks weird find is the answer to my weird find in Florida. Thanks to my uncle, he found out it comes from this marine gastropod called a Lightning Whelk. Lightning Whelks are large carnivorous sea snails that prey on species like crustaceans, worms, clams and even other whelks. What I found on the beach was not a snakes skeleton but in fact the egg casing for the Lightning Whelk during reproduction. This long spiral-shaped egg casing is attached to the bottom of the sea as the eggs develop. They can reach length as long as 33 in and have about 200 pouches with about 100 eggs in each.
