The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted long-standing routines, creating myriad challenges and opportunities. Now that many restrictions have been lifted, a new normal is taking shape. ⁠ ⁠ We asked young scientists to describe positive changes their institutions have made, or should make, based on lessons learned during the pandemic.⁠ ⁠ Some themes discussed include flexible schedules, financial support, and remote learning options—as highlighted in this response: “Before the pandemic, few professors recorded their lectures or offered synchronous livestreams.
