Bermuda, babeeeee!!! 🇧🇲 Grateful for my sister-friend @zjlord — a real one, a rock, my champion and fellow Black island girl — for inviting me to her homeland (what’s good Somerset?!) We bopped around this 21-mile long rock in the middle of the Atlantic with her ice cream-loving water baby Porter in tow, ate waaaaay too damn much at Crown & Anchor and 1609, drank just enough Swizzle, and shared good times with local hosts who alllll opened up their homes to us — her mother Meredith made us a cod fish and potatoes brunch (Angel had two damn plate fulls!); her longtime friend @mfield468 served us S’mores cookies as we dipped in her pool; and her hilarious + brilliant historian friend @itskristindotcom (🎶 “i’m in the fête”🎶) prepared us a feast with good people. As Angela Chase said, “We had a time.” It was restorative and joy-filled and necessary. A beauty-full time in the sun and saltwater (I’m a Black Kanaka Maoli Pisces queen 🐠 after all) with people who love on me with zero expectations or explanations. I’m so grateful to be loved — and to love.
