✨ my friend, the great artist @skyenicolas made me feel nostalgic. nostalgia, walkmans, tapes and song lyrics play an important role in his work, so at some point we discussed him turning a walkman into a readymade. he did it. he also made one for me and chose the perfect line from a song: you wait til tomorrow. it‘s engraved on the back. in silver. i grew up listening to that song over and over again on my walkman. on my way to school. on my way home from school. on walks. in my bedroom. and at concerts. i think i saw silverchair play around 30 times all over europe. some of the most memorable shows were cologne in 96 (my dad went with me; i was way too young to go alone to a concert), bizarre festival in 97, and london 99. you can find snippets of silverchair playing tomorrow in this album: the australian version of the music video, them playing live on that rooftop in new york, bizarre festival, and dan playing tomorrow solo in london. my silverchair tapes are at my parents‘ house, my vinyls are with me though. i‘ll ask them to send the tapes to me. thank you for the walkman, dear skye! thank you for the music, dan! p.s. i still listen to silverchair or something from dan every single day.
