Rocks. Most times we are friends and about once a year it seems we are not.
Last week, I was being extra cautious on a technical descent that I had raced down earlier in July during the Pierra Menta Eté. I was slowly stepping down a large bouldery section when my patella decided it wanted to somewhat aggressively kiss the rock directly in front of it. Another visit to a French medical center and one single stitch later, I can’t help but feel embarrassed and accident prone after what happened last summer in France.
Accident in sport is a risk we take every day when we lace up our shoes and hit the trails. Knowing that though, doesn’t always make it easy when something does happen to you. I am thankful it wasn’t worse, but I am struggling with a bruised patella and a bit of lingering soreness and stiffness. I would appreciate any recovery advice from anyone who has gone through this!
