#Manifesta14 • Lee Bul’s iconic Zeppelin sculpture is featured in the @ManifestaBiennial, on view in Prishtina, Kosovo through October 30. Lee Bul’s installation hovers above parked cars in the city’s Palace of Youth and Sports, an icon of Yugoslavian socialist architecture. The work recalls the infamous Hindenburg disaster and raises questions that have been central to the artist’s practice for decades: What did we dream in the past, and what did we try? What happened, and how can we use it still? Considering ideas of utopian ideals and their pitfalls throughout history, the work invites us to reflect on what we might salvage from the dreams of the past and what we might bring into the future.
