If you’re anything like me, anywhere I go, whether it’s for work or play or workplay (which is kinda my job!) I explore the place on foot. I will find a beautiful trail to run on at Sugarloaf Mountain, an expanse of beauty like I found at Meijer Gardens to spend hours in (you know, contemplating how art mimics life and vice-versa), a hip restaurant or a secret hole in the wall that only locals go to... And if there is water, you can bet I’ll be in it. I found all of this in Michigan! Who knew? From parks to camping to grub to running to crystal blue lakes and straits to pottery classes, to hanging with elks at Elk Park in Gaylord—Michigan has everything! I still feel like I didn’t spend enough time in the UP, according to myself and the Yoopers. The only thing I didn’t try, and I will next time, was a pasty.
