A lot of you have been asking me how to make Daal Makhani (buttered black lentil) so here it is. Makhan translated from hindi means butter and Makhani means made with butter (yes it has a generous amount of butter) This is a very easy recipe, but sooooo delicious... just give it time and cook it low and slow. (Also make sure that you add the butter a little at a time and then add the next cube only after the butter you have added is completely melted and mixed together) #cookingwithmaneet #spiceitup
Daal Makhani
* 1 cup Black Urad Daal (soaked in water for 30 mins, drain and cook in a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water on high with salt for 15-17mins)
* 1 can Red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
* 1 cup water
* 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
* 1/2 cup tomato paste
* 1 tbsp Garam Masala
* 1 tsp red chili powder
* 1 tbsp kastoori methi
* Salt to taste
* 1 lb unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
