When I first moved to New York I lived on the Upper East Side in a three bedroom walk up. The third roommate was a revolving door of characters. One of them stole our clothes and electronics. Thanks Craigslist! But the vicinity to so many beautiful museums made it so they could be my solace in a period of my life marked by a mix of fun, confusion and chaos. Museums feel like a kind of church to me. A visual testament to what the human spirit is capable of.
