Indigenous Peoples’ Day is being celebrated at Yale with several events throughout the week, including this gathering on Cross Campus, hosted by the Native and Indigenous Student Association at Yale. Watch the video to experience a moment of cross-cultural solidarity with a round dance – a social dance in which all are invited to participate. Though songs for these dances can be unique, the beat is typically similar – often described as a heartbeat. Among Monday's festivities was a performance by Red Territory, Yale's inter-tribal drum group.
