Did you know that Minnesota has a network of female brewers who come together biannually to brew a beer? Known as Team Nevertheless, these kickass ladies just finished their 4th brew at Spiral Brewing in Hastings, MN on September 30th. The group contains women from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. Surly brewer Shannon Stroh says she feels like she's gained an exponential amount of knowledge from the women on Team Nevertheless and looks forward to learning more from them. Shannon encourages women interested in the brewing industry to put themselves out there! "A lot of brewers (women especially) truly start at the bottom and work their way up. It’s hard to break into any profession, but especially one that’s male dominated. It can be very intimidating at times. Just be yourself and leave your ego at the door. Everyone has something to learn from everyone. Brewers are a very strange collective of humans, so there’s no way you won’t fit in." Team Nevertheless' 4th brew is an ESB style ale named "Mind the Gap." Keep your eyes peeled for it in early November.
